West Side Man Charged in Metrorail Station Stabbing

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 23 year-old Calvin Haskins of 798 West Avenue, Buffalo, will be arraigned at 3:30 p.m. before Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia on an indictment charging him with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Assault in the First Degree. 

It is alleged that on October 6, 2013 at the Fountain Plaza Train Station in Downtown Buffalo, Haskins stabbed a man awaiting a Metrorail train approximately 17 times in his back and chest area.   

If convicted of these crimes Haskins faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years.  Like all defendants accused of a crime, Haskins is legally presumed to be innocent until his guilt is proven in a court of law.
