Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 31 year-old Jason Kester of Youngstown pleaded guilty as charged to a Superior Court Information charging him with Burglary in the Second Degree, before Senior Erie County Court Judge Michael D’Amcio.

On December 15, 2013, Kester forced his way into the residence of a 74 year-old woman,  demanded her ATM card and PIN number, bound her wrists, upper torso and mouth, and attempted to force her into the trunk of her own car.  Kester was thwarted in his efforts and fled the scene when a relative of the victim arrived. Thanks to the diligent efforts of West Seneca Police Department Detectives Robert Andolina, Kenneth Daniel Crowe and Kenneth Morano, Kester was apprehended on December 21, 2013.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Senior Trial Counsel Christopher J. Belling and Assistant District Attorney, Lauren Nash, who is assigned to DA Sedita’a Felony Trial Bureau. No stranger to law enforcement, Kester is currently on probation in Niagara County for a 2011 Attempted Robbery conviction. Kester faces a maximum of 15 years in state prison when he is sentenced on February 28, 2014 before Judge D’Amico.
