Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 33 year-old Charles M. Young of Cheektowaga pleaded guilty, as charged, to three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case. These are the highest charges for which the defendant could have been convicted had he gone to trial. In other words, the defendant was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

On three different occasions in the autumn of 2013, Young sold hydrocodone pills to an undercover officer assigned to the Cheektowaga Police Department’s Narcotics Division. Shockingly, Young has prior criminal convictions involving narcotics and marijuana, and faces a maximum of 5 ½ years in state prison when he is sentenced on May 16, 2014 before Judge Case.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney James W. Mansour, II, who is assigned to DA Sedita’s Felony Trials Bureau.
