Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita III announced that 26 year-old Christian Myers of Buffalo, is scheduled to be sentenced on April 25, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case.
Myers previously pleaded guilty as charged to Promoting A Sexual Performance By A Child before Judge Case. This is the highest charge for which Myers could have been convicted had he gone to trial. In other words, Myers was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Myers, who was employed as a youth counselor at the Victory Assembly of God in Buffalo, downloaded child pornography videos onto his computer and shared with others, via electronic mail, pornographic images of juvenile males between the ages of 8 and 14.
The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lynette M. Reda, who is assigned to DA Sedita’s Special Victims Bureau. DA Sedita also lauded the investigation spearheaded by New York State Police Investigators Daniel Strozyk and Robert Gardiner and members of the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
