District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announces that 31 year-old Julien McCrayer, pleaded guilty as charged, to Burglary in the Second Degree, a class “C” violent felony, before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges. This is the highest charge for which the defendant was indicted and for which he could have been convicted had he gone to trial.  In other words, McCrayer was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

On April 25, 2013, infuriated by the prospect of paying child support for another child and having been removed from the premises by the police only two hours beforehand, McCrayer returned to the residence of his estranged girlfriend and broke down her door. Screaming threats and profanities, McCrayer attacked the pregnant victim, which ultimately led to the miscarriage of their unborn daughter.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Danielle N. Soluri who is assigned to DA Sedita’s Felony Trial Bureau.  McCrayer faces up to 15 years in state prison when he is sentenced on June 23, 2014 before Justice Haendiges.
