Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 40 year- old Richard Jetter of Ashford Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda has pleaded guilty as charged to Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree before Erie County Court Judge Thomas P. Franczyk.
Jetter, the Superintendent of the Hamburg School District, falsely reported to police that his car had been struck by an unknown vehicle at the Union Pleasant School parking lot in Hamburg on May 6, 2014. He later admitted to police that he lied and in fact caused the damage to his vehicle in an accident in the City of Buffalo on May 5, 2014.
Jetter faces a maximum of one year in jail when he is sentenced on November 25, 2014, before Judge Franczyk.
The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney G. Michael Drmacich, Chief of DA Sedita’s Community Prosecution Bureau. D.A. Sedita also lauded the investigation of Captain Michael Melisz of the Village of Hamburg Police Department.
