Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III announces that 39 year- old Ejay Corp of 54 Roswell Avenue in the City of Buffalo pleaded guilty as charged to Burglary in the Second Degree before Acting State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller.  This was the highest charge for which the defendant could have been convicted of had he gone to trial.  In other words, Corp did not receive a so-called “plea bargain” and was instead prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

On September 22, 2014 Corp broke into a home on Roesch Street in the City of Buffalo.  Alone in his second floor bedroom, the 83 year-old victim called 911 as Corp crept around the house.  Corp used a tire iron to pry open the locked bedroom door and threatened the elderly victim as he demanded money.  Fortunately, Buffalo police officers promptly responded and surrounded the house, distracting Corp and enabling the victim to escape from the clutches of his assailant. Officer James Hacker found Corp hiding in a first floor bedroom and arrested him.

Shockingly, Corp is a career criminal with 12 prior misdemeanor convictions and 3 prior felony convictions.  Corp faces a maximum prison term of 15 years when he is sentenced before Justice Boller on December 4, 2014.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Paul J. Glascott, who is assigned DA Sedita’s Felony Trial Bureau.
