Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announces that 43 year-old Kimberly Leonard of Gasport, pleaded guilty to four counts of Identity Theft in the Second Degree, before State Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang.

Leonard’s conviction stems from a series of thefts that she perpetrated while being entrusted to clean the houses of four families in the Town of Clarence.  Between December 19, 2014 and January 27, 2015, Leonard stole various items of personal property from the victims, including personal checks.  After stealing the checks, Leonard used personal identifying information from each of the victims in order to make the stolen checks out to herself.  She then deposited the checks into her bank account.

Leonard faces a maximum prison term of 4 years when she is sentenced as a second felony offender before Justice Wolfgang on June 30, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christopher P. Jurusik, who is assigned to DA Sedita’s Financial Crimes Bureau.
