Two to be Arraigned for Beating Death of Robbery Victim

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announces that 21 year-old George Mowers, II of 124 Gold Street, Buffalo, will be arraigned at 11:00 a.m. before State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia on an indictment charging him with Murder in the Second Degree, Manslaughter in the First Degree and Robbery in the First Degree.  His co-defendant, 27 year-old Derrick Kocol of 89 Gatchell Avenue, Buffalo, will be arraigned on the same charges on September 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. before Justice Buscaglia. 

It is alleged that on March 18, 2015, in the vicinity of 117 Peck Street, Buffalo, Mowers and Kocol murdered 62 year-old Patrick Dennis of 117 Peck Street, Buffalo, by beating him during the course of robbing him.   

If convicted of these crimes, Mowers and Kocol both face a maximum prison sentence of 25 years to life. 

Like all defendants accused of a crime, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
