Buffalo Woman Indicted for Murder of Boyfriend

Acting District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces that 47 year-old Debra Haynes-Thomas of 100 Cazenovia Street, Buffalo, will be arraigned January 29, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. before Supreme Court Justice Russell Buscaglia on an indictment charging her with Murder in the Second Degree.

It is alleged that Haynes-Thomas beat her 56 year-old boyfriend, Peter Wiepert to death on November 14, 2015 inside his home at 42 Princess Drive, Cheektowaga.

If convicted of these crimes, the defendant faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years-to-life in state prison. 

Like all defendants accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney and Tactical Prosecution Unit Bureau Chief Michael P. Felicetta.
