Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces 37-year-old Corrine Alexander of Gowanda has pleaded guilty to Attempted Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case and has agreed to pay $1,000 in restitution to the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.

Alexander was a direct support assistant working with the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.  Her duties included assisting in the care and attending to the needs of individuals living in group homes.  Between April 4, 2014 and September 1, 2015, she abused a state issued credit card by using it to pay for personal items such as groceries and beauty items.

Alexander faces up to one year in prison when she is sentenced on July 25, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. by Judge Case.

Acting DA Flaherty credits the New York State Inspector General’s Office for its investigative work.

Assistant District Attorney Gary M. Ertel prosecuted the case.
