Cheektowaga Grandmother Pleads Guilty To Selling Opioid Pills

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces 46-year-old Wanda Winfield of 67 Charnwood Avenue in Cheektowaga has pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher Burns to two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Winfield was arrested last month after law enforcement officials received information that the Cheektowaga grandmother was selling opioid pills out of her Charnwood home. 

Acting DA Flaherty commends the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Cheektowaga police and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their efforts in this investigation.

Winfield faces a maximum sentence of up to 9 years in prison when she is sentenced by Justice Burns August 24, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Paul E. Bonanno and Assistant District Attorney John P. Gerken of Acting DA Flaherty’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Bureau.
