Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces that 44-year-old Victor Irizarry of Buffalo has pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns.
On September 12, 2015, about 4:30 a.m., in the vicinity of 1960 Clinton Street, Buffalo the defendant fatally shot 28-year-old Nicholas Jozens of Buffalo one time in the abdomen.
Irizarry faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced by Justice Burns on August 31, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
Acting DA Flaherty commends the investigative work of Buffalo Police Department Detectives Daniel Redmond and Christopher Sterlace, Buffalo Police Lt. Brian Britzzalaro and Buffalo Police Officers Ian Baker, Sean Zoll and James Reese.
Assistant District Attorneys Gary W. Hackbush and Christopher P. Jurusik are prosecuting the case.
