Buffalo Man Accused Of Gunning Down Victim On The Street

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces that 35-year-old Marco Sweat of Buffalo has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on an indictment charging him with one count of Murder in the Second Degree for the fatal shooting of 51-year-old Charles Wyatt of Buffalo.

It is alleged that on Friday, September 2, 2016 at about 8:45 a.m. on the street outside of 1400 East Delavan in Buffalo, Sweat shot and killed Mr. Wyatt.

Sweat pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail. 

He will return before Justice Boller on Friday, September 30 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial conference. 

Acting DA Flaherty commends the investigative work of Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives Scott Malec, Mark White, John Garcia and Daniel Redmond. 

Homicide Bureau Chief Colleen Curtin Gable is prosecuting the case. 

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
