Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 28-year-old Raquise Bryant of Buffalo has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns on an indictment charging him with Murder in the Second Degree.

It is alleged that on September 24, 2016, about 10:30 p.m., in the vicinity of 1780 Genesee Street, Buffalo, the defendant fatally stabbed the victim, 29-year-old Raheem Malone of Buffalo, one time in the chest.

Bryant pleaded not guilty and was remanded to jail without bail.  If convicted of the murder charge, he faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Homicide Division, including Detectives Timothy Salamone and Terrance Supples, as well as NYSP Investigator Kevin Kendall.

Assistant District Attorney Gary W. Hackbush of the DA’s Homicide Bureau is prosecuting the case.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
