Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 19-year-old Russell Adams of Buffalo has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns on an indictment charging him with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. 

It is alleged that on August 31, 2016, the defendant fatally shot the victim, 29-year-old Myron Kemp of Buffalo, at the intersection of Grant and Breckenridge in Buffalo. 

Adams pleaded not guilty and was remanded to jail without bail. If he is convicted of all of the charges, he faces 25 years to life in prison. 

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Homicide Squad, including Antonio Borelli, Bill Cooley, John Garcia, and Daniel Redmond. 

Assistant District Attorney John Patrick Feroleto of the DA’s Homicide Bureau is prosecuting the case. 

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
