Buffalo Man Accused Of Killing One, Injuring Three

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 18-year-old Jaylin Wiggins of Buffalo has been arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka on an indictment charging him with one count of Murder in the Second Degree, three counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Assault in the First Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. 

It is alleged that during the early morning hours of August 4, 2016, Wiggins fired a gun on Maple Street in Buffalo, injuring one person, and then an hour later, fatally shot 22-year-old Laron Watkins of Buffalo and injured two others. 

Wiggins pleaded not guilty and is remanded to jail without bail. 

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Homicide Squad for its investigative work, including Detectives Timothy Salamone and Patricia Wrest. 

Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge III is prosecuting the case. 

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
