Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 38-year-old Joell Brown of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Thomas P. Franczyk to six years in prison for selling heroin.
Brown pleaded guilty in September 2016 to two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, but sentencing was adjourned to allow the defendant time to recover from a gunshot wound.
On two separate occasions in July of 2015, Brown sold $100 worth of heroin to an undercover narcotics officer. Both sales occurred at the intersection of Linwood and Barker in the city of Buffalo.
DA Flynn commends the Cheektowaga Police Department for its thorough investigative work.
Assistant District Attorney James W. Mansour II prosecuted the case.
