Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Mary Talbot of Cheektowaga has pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case to Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and five counts of Forgery in the Second Degree for stealing money from an 82-year-old West Seneca woman. 

From January 2015 to May 2016, the defendant, who was the victim’s home health care aide, stole $41,590 by forging the woman’s checks, making them payable to herself and then cashing them. 

Talbot faces up to seven years in prison when she is sentenced by Judge Case on June 22, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. 

DA Flynn credits West Seneca Police Detective Ken Moreno for his thorough investigative work. 

Chief Candace K. Vogel of the DA’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Bureau prosecuted the case.
