Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Phillip Jackson of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to three years in prison and two years post-release supervision for selling drugs. 

In May, Jackson pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and violating the terms of his probation. 

In February, defendant was sentenced to 5 years probation for his conviction of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree. One of the terms of his probation was that he remain arrest free, but four days later, the Narcotics Unit of the Buffalo Police Department executed a search warrant at the defendant’s apartment in Buffalo where they recovered 87 glassine envelopes of fentanyl and cocaine packaged for sale. 

The judge also recommended shock incarceration for the defendant. 

DA Flynn credits the hard work of the Narcotics Unit of the Buffalo Police Department for stopping the sale of fentanyl. 

Narcotics Bureau Chief Paul J. Williams III and Assistant District Attorney Raymond Herman prosecuted the case.
