Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 38-year-old Aaron Lucas of Buffalo has pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to two counts of Rape in the First Degree. 

The defendant admitted to raping two women at his residence at 300 Busti in the fall of 2015.  He forced the women to engage in various sexual acts by means of fear and coercion.  During the investigation, Buffalo Police seized several weapons, including a sword, gun, and machete. 

The defendant faces a sentence of 5-25 years in state prison when he is sentenced by Justice Boller on November 3, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. 

DA Flynn acknowledges and commends the team who assisted in this lengthy investigation: Buffalo Police Department’s B district officers who responded to the calls and provided assistance on scene as well as throughout this prosecution;  the thorough investigative work of Detective Judy Walker and Natalie Perez as well as District Attorney Criminal Investigator Mary Gugliuzza; the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo who provided care to the traumatized victims; as well as District Attorney Victim Advocate, Nicole Haffa.

Assistant District Attorney Bethany A. Solek in the DA’s Special Victims Bureau prosecuted the case.
