Cheektowaga Woman Pleads Guilty In Deadly Shooting

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 32-year-old Nadiyah Whitaker of Cheektowaga has pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Thomas P. Franczyk to Manslaughter in the First Degree. 

On January 1, 2017, around 10:00 a.m., at 250 Gold Street in the city of Buffalo, the defendant fatally shot 30-year-old Shanna Mason of Sloan, NY. 

She faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when she is sentenced by Judge Franczyk on December 11, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. 

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives Michael Mordino, Timothy Salamone and Richard Wagstaff. 

Homicide Bureau Chief Colleen Curtin Gable prosecuted the case.
