Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 19-year-old Raquise Bryant of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio to 11 years in prison plus five years post-release supervision.

In October, the defendant pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree, a week before jury selection in his murder trial was to begin.

On September 24, 2016, at about 10:30 p.m., in the vicinity of 1780 Genesee Street, Buffalo, the defendant fatally stabbed the victim, 19-year-old Raheem Malone of Buffalo, once in the chest.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Homicide Division, including Detectives Timothy Salamone and Terrance Supples, as well as NYSP Investigator Kevin Kendall.

Assistant District Attorney Michael D. Smith of the DA’s Homicide Bureau prosecuted the case.
