Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 31-year-old Reginald Alls of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to 1 1/3-4 years in prison for a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured another driver.

In October, Alls pleaded guilty to Leaving the Scene of an Incident Resulting in Serious Physical Injury.

On March 5, 2017, at about 4:00 p.m. at Grant St. and Garner in Buffalo, the defendant ran a stop sign and struck another car with 3 occupants, seriously injuring the driver.  The defendant’s car then crashed into a concrete wall, and he and a passenger ran from the vehicle. 

The defendant left behind his NYS Learner's Permit and cellphone.  Additionally, he left a hat and an empty liquor bottle.  DNA analysis on the items found in the car led to the defendant’s arrest.

The 43-year-old driver of the vehicle struck by the defendant’s car sustained spinal fractures, broken ribs, tibia, legs and sternum.

Chief Kelley A. Omel of the DA’s Vehicular Crimes Bureau prosecuted the case.
