Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 37-year-old Robert Healy of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Haendiges to a maximum of 35 years in prison on a rape conviction. 

In May, a jury found Healy guilty of three counts of Rape in the Second Degree, two counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 

The panel convicted the defendant of engaging in sexual intercourse and both oral and anal sexual conduct with a minor child under the age of fifteen from June 1, 2014 through May 31, 2015. 

Justice Haendiges also issued an Order of Protection preventing any contact with the victim until the year 2065. 

The defendant was also sentenced to an additional 2-4 years in prison that will be served consecutively on a conviction of Felony Aggravated Family Offense for sending letters from jail to the mother of the victim in violation of an Order of Protection. 

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for its thorough investigation, including Officer Maurice Foster and Detectives Adam Stephany and Melanie Neureuther of the Sex Offense Squad. 

Assistant District Attorneys Anthony M. Rossi, Cathleen M. Roemer and Lynette M. Reda prosecuted the cases.
