Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 51-year-old Wilfred Stevens, Jr. of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski to one count of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and two counts of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.

Over a period of 9 months, the defendant stole a total of $23,527.71 from M&T Bank, International Tradesman and Basil Transcorp by forging checks, falsifying business records and substituting forged checks for cash.

The defendant, a second time felony offender, pleaded guilty to the highest charges.

Stevens faces a maximum of 18 years in prison when he is sentenced by Justice Michalski on Monday, June 4 at 9:30 a.m.

Candace K. Vogel, Chief of the DA’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Bureau, prosecuted the case.
