Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 37-year-old Arthur Lewis (aka “Cutty”) of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to 8 years in prison.

On February 25, 2016, the Buffalo Police Department executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home on Crossman Avenue. Inside the house, officers found a large bag containing more than four ounces of cocaine, paraphernalia used in the sale of narcotics, a loaded Glock 9mm pistol and more than $40,000 in cash.

The defendant has a criminal history. He previously spent 8 years in prison after being convicted of Attempted Assault in the First Degree in 2005.

Lewis pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree in February 2018.

DA Flynn commends Lieutenant Craig Leone and Detective Timothy Rooney of the Buffalo Police Department Narcotics Unit for their thorough investigation.

“Mr. Lewis has a history of offenses and I thank the members of the Buffalo Police Department for taking this criminal and these drugs off of our streets,” said DA Flynn.

Assistant District Attorneys Justin T. Wallens of the DA’s Narcotics Bureau and Rachel Kranitz McPhee of the DA’s Vehicular Crimes Bureau prosecuted the case.
