Tonawanda Man Admits to Possession of Child Pornography

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 49-year-old Christopher Hayden of Town of Tonawanda pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski to two felony counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child Less Than 16 Years Old.

On May 2, 2017, investigators executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home and found sexual images of pre-pubescent females on two of the defendant’s devices.

Hayden faces 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison when he is sentenced on Monday, August 13 at 2 p.m.

“My office is committed to prosecuting those who commit crimes against children and those who possess images that exploit these young victims,” said DA Flynn.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work by the Town of Tonawanda Police Department and the Buffalo FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. 

Assistant District Attorney Cathleen M. Roemer of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau prosecuted the case.
