Parolee Sentenced for Raping A Teenage Victim

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Rokym Knox of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to 2 ½ years in prison followed by 10 years post-release supervision.

On October 13, 2017, the defendant engaged in intercourse with a child less than 17 years old.

At the time of the crime, the defendant was on parole after being convicted of two counts of Robbery in the Second Degree in 2014.

Knox pleaded guilty to Rape in the Third Degree on April 17, 2018.

DA Flynn commends the scientists at Erie County Central Police Services Forensic Laboratory and the staff of the Child Advocacy Center for their assistance in this investigation.

Assistant District Attorney Bethany A. Solek of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau prosecuted the case.
