Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 47-year-old Jose Gonzalez has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to 3 ½ years in prison followed by 2 ½ years post-release supervision.

On October 21, 2016, Buffalo Police executed a search warrant in the lower apartment of a home on Sayre Avenue. Once inside, investigators found a loaded 40 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Gonzalez pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, the highest charge in the indictment, in May 2018.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of the Buffalo Police Department Narcotics Unit.

Assistant District Attorneys James M. Marra and Rachel Kranitz McPhee of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau prosecuted the case.
