Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 42-year-old Calvin “Biggie” Young of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to 8 years in prison.
On March 2, 2017, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home on East North Street in the City of Buffalo. The defendant and a juvenile were apprehended as they attempted to flee out the back door. During the search of the home, detectives found more than eight ounces of crack cocaine, more than ½ ounce of heroin and a loaded firearm in a safe. Also, investigators recovered approximately $73,000 in cash throughout the house.
Young pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree in January 2018.
The defendant has a history of criminal convictions, including a felony narcotics conviction from 2012 and an illegal firearm possession conviction from 1999.
