Buffalo Teen Indicted in Goodyear Avenue Homicide

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 19-year-old Kyle Lovines of Buffalo has been arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case on one count of Murder in the Second Degree.

It is alleged that at approximately 7:10 p.m. on May 9, 2018, the defendant fatally shot 23-year-old Chaz Carter on Goodyear Avenue in the City of Buffalo.

The defendant remains remanded without bail. He is scheduled to return on Monday, September 10 at 9:30 a.m. for a motion argument.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of the Buffalo Police Homicide Squad, including Detective Brendan Kiefer.

Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III of the DA’s Homicide Bureau is prosecuting the case.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
