Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Tevin McCutcheon of Buffalo has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski on two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

It is alleged that on May 20, 2017, the defendant was involved in the kidnapping and fatal shooting of 23-year-old Jonathan Grumble of Buffalo whose body was found in a vacant lot on Quincy and Ashley Streets in the City of Buffalo. 

The defendant was remanded without bail. 

If convicted on all charges, McCutcheon faces up to 25 years to life in prison.

Assistant District Attorney Christine M. Garvey of the DA’s Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Danielle N. D’Abate of the DA’s Training/Special Projects Bureau are prosecuting the case.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad, including Detectives Dan Redmond and Antonio Borrelli.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
