Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case has found 34-year-old Andre Jones of Buffalo guilty of one count of Robbery in the Third Degree, one count of Assault in the Third Degree and two counts of Petit Larceny.
On May 23, 2017, the defendant appeared at his ex-girlfriend’s home on Moeller Street in the City of Buffalo, and asked to use her vehicle. When the victim said he could not take it, the defendant hit her, bit her lip twice, and then drove off in her vehicle. The victim received stitches for her lip injury at ECMC.
On June 20, 2017, the victim was assaulted a second time by the defendant as she left a corner store on Burgard Place in the City of Buffalo. The defendant struck the victim in the face with a gun, took her cell phone and ran away from the scene.
On July 16, 2017, the defendant attended a birthday celebration on a party bus. While outside of an establishment on Genesee Street in the City of Buffalo, an altercation took place on the bus. During the fight, the defendant put a man in a headlock, grabbed the victim’s $3,500 gold necklace, and ran.
Jones faces a maximum of 7 years in prison when he is sentenced on Wednesday, September 5 at 9:30 a.m.
In June 2018, Jones was found guilty of Assault in the Third Degree following a 5 day bench trial before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case in for an attack on his neighbor on June 28, 2017. He faces a maximum of 1year in jail for that crime.
