Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 17-year-old Damoni Alexander of Buffalo has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on one count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
It is alleged that shortly after midnight on September 29, 2018, the defendant fatally shot 20-year-old Brandon Williams on Lisbon Avenue in the City of Buffalo.
Alexander is scheduled to return on Friday, December 21 at 9:30 a.m. for a motion argument. He is being held on $200,000 cash or $500,000 bond.
If convicted on the charges, Alexander faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.
DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Det. Mark White, Det. Scott Malec and Det. Dawn Lopez of the Buffalo Police Homicide Squad.
Assistant District Attorney Michael D. Smith of the DA’s Homicide Bureau is prosecuting the case.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
