Guilty Plea in Wright Avenue Homicide

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Dominic Vereen of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree.

The defendant admitted that on June 21, 2018, he fatally shot 24-year-old Dennis Thompson inside a home on Wright Avenue in the City of Buffalo.

Vereen faces a maximum of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Detective Christopher Sterlace, Detective Terry Supples and Detective Mark White of the Buffalo Police Department.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christine M. Garvey of the DA’s Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Stephen C. Earnhart of the DA’s Domestic Violence Bureau.
