Man Sentenced for Sexual Abuse of a Minor

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 23-year-old Brandon Evans of Lancaster has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to 10 years’ state prison followed by 20 years post-release supervision.

The defendant engaged in oral and anal sexual conduct with the victim multiple times between the dates of July 1, 2015 and November 2, 2017.  Defendant, who was 19 at the time of the offense, is approximately 7 years older than the victim.

In November 2018, Evans pleaded guilty to one count of Criminal Sex Act in the First Degree, a Class “B” felony. The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest charge in the indictment.

DA Flynn commends Detectives Jack Graham, Matthew Fuqua, Cully Ferrick, and Jon Hanna of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Meghan E. Leydecker of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
