Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 55-year-old Nicholas Hicks of Buffalo pleaded guilty, as charged, before Buffalo City Court Judge Thomas P. Amodeo to one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” misdemeanor.

The defendant admitted that on or about and between February 2016 and May 5, 2018, in the City of Buffalo, he knowingly acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental or moral welfare of a juvenile female, by showing said juvenile female a sexual image on his cellular phone, and by subjecting her to sexual contact without her consent.

After his plea, Judge Amodeo sentenced Hicks, who is a licensed attorney, to three years probation. In addition to his sentence, a five year order of protection was issued for the victim.

DA Flynn commends Detective Adam Stephany and Detective Molly Sanford of the Buffalo Police Department for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Rosanne E. Johnson and Assistant District Attorney Katharine S. Lavin of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
