Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Robert Blaszyk of Buffalo has been sentenced by Acting Erie County Court Judge James A. W. McLeod to a determinate sentence of 7 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.
The defendant admitted that on April 14, 2018, he attempted to engage in sexual conduct with an adult female victim while she was incapable of consent by reason of being asleep while at a location in the City of Buffalo.
Last month, Blaszyk pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a Class “C” violent felony.
DA Flynn commends Detective Julie Ledwin of the Buffalo Police Department Sex Offense Squad for her work in the investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Meghan E. Leydecker of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
