Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Sean M. Brown of Buffalo was arraigned yesterday before Buffalo City Court Judge Peter J. Savage to two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felonies) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class “D” felony).

It is alleged that on Saturday, November, 12, 2022, at approximately 6:00 a.m., while serving a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order (TERPO), Buffalo Police did recover a rifle, a handgun and ammunition illegally possessed by the defendant.

Brown was remanded and is scheduled to return on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing.

If convicted of the highest charge, Brown faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Intelligence Unit and BPD SWAT for their work on this case.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Andrew S. Criado of the Felony Trials Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
