Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 39-year-old Willie Loyd of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class “A-II” felony, and to eight counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class “B” felonies.

Between November 3, 2018, and March 4, 2019, the defendant sold fentanyl to an undercover officer on eight separate occasions.

On March 7, 2019, the Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Zenner Street in the City of Buffalo. Investigators found the defendant in possession of approximately 600 grams of heroin mixed with fentanyl and drug packaging materials.

Loyd faces a maximum of 17 years in prison when he is sentenced as a second felony offender on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. He remains held without bail.

DA Flynn commends the Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit for their work on this investigation.
