Buffalo Man Admits to Killing His Grandmother

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 31-year-old Alec M. Swiderski of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class “B” felony.  

On or about December 23, 2018, the defendant caused the death of his grandmother, 74-year-old Pamela Toy, by beating and strangling her.

Swiderski faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. He remains held without bail.

DA Flynn commends Detectives Bill Cooley and Scott Malec of the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge of the DA’s Homicide Bureau.
