Drug Dealer Sentenced for Selling Fentanyl to Undercover Officer

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 39-year-old Willie Loyd of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to a determinate sentence of 10 years in prison. He was sentenced as second felony offender.

Between November 3, 2018, and March 4, 2019, the defendant sold fentanyl to an undercover officer on eight separate occasions.

On March 7, 2019, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Zenner Street in the City of Buffalo. Investigators found the defendant in possession of approximately 600 grams of heroin mixed with fentanyl along with drug packaging materials.

Loyd pleaded guilty to one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class “A-II” felony, and to eight counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class “B” felonies.

DA Flynn commends the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit for their work on this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Paul J. Williams, III, Chief of the DA’s Narcotics Bureau.
