Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 32-year-old Bryant Moss of Buffalo pleaded guilty, as charged, to two counts of Burglary in the Second Degree, Class “C” felonies. The defendant pleaded guilty on the day his jury trial was set to begin.

The defendant admitted that on September 26, 2018, he unlawfully entered a residence on Lisbon Avenue in the City of Buffalo that was occupied by several University at Buffalo students. The defendant stole a bicycle, a laptop, and other items from the apartments.

On August 4, 2016, a resident was notified by his home security company that his alarm was engaged. When the victim arrived at his home on Orchard Place, Buffalo Police had already responded to investigate the scene. It was discovered that the defendant broke a back window with a rock to gain entry. Several items were reported stolen, including a laptop and tablet.

At the Orchard Place home, investigators collected drops of blood found on the windowsill and around the broken glass. A lab analysis determined that DNA from the blood matched that of the defendant.

Moss is scheduled to return on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. for a hearing to determine his status as a persistent violent felony offender. He faces 16 years to life in prison when he is sentenced.
