Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 52-year-old Wallace Waliczek of Lancaster has been arraigned before Lancaster Town Court Justice Anthony Cervi on one count of Promotion Prostitution in the Fourth Degree, a Class “A” misdemeanor.

The defendant is accused of promoting prostitution after an investigation into his wife’s alleged actions revealed additional evidence pointing to his involvement.

The defendant’s wife, Melissa Waliczek, was arrested on August 16, 2019 at a parking lot on Transit Road near William Street in the Town of Lancaster. It is alleged that an undercover police officer answered an online advertisement for sex and arranged the meeting with the defendant at the parking lot.

Melissa Waliczek was charged with one count of Prostitution, a Class “B” misdemeanor. Her case is pending before Judge Amy Martoche in Buffalo City Court.

Wallace Waliczek is scheduled to return on January 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. in Lancaster Town Court. He was released on his own recognizance.

If convicted on the charge, he faces a maximum of 1 year in jail.

DA Flynn commends the Lancaster Police Department, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and the Erie County Human Trafficking Task Force for their work in the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Meghan Leydecker of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
