West Falls Man Pleads Guilty to Forcible Touching

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Andrew Amato of West Falls pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to one count of Forcible Touching, a Class “A” misdemeanor.

During the late evening of November 14, 2014 and into the early morning hours of November 15, 2014, the defendant admitted that he intentionally and forcibly touched a female victim in a sexual manner inside a hotel room in the Town of Cheektowaga. 

Amato faces a maximum of 1 year in jail when he is sentenced on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. He was released under supervision of the Erie County Probation Department.

DA Flynn commends Detective Terrence Griffin of the Cheektowaga Police Department for his work in the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Stephen C. Earnhart of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
