Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 29-year-old Tyree J. Littlejohn of Buffalo was arraigned yesterday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Carrie Phillips on the following offenses:

• One count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class “D” felony)
• One count of Resisting Arrest (Class “A” misdemeanor)
• One count of Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor)
• One count of Harassment in the Second Degree (violation)
• One count of Trespass (violation)

It is alleged that on Friday, December 2, 2022, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Erie County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the HEAP office on the 400 block of Main Street in the City of Buffalo. The defendant is accused of harassing employees while inside of the building. The defendant allegedly refused to comply after being ordered to leave the building by the responding deputies. During the incident, the defendant allegedly pushed a deputy and continued to refuse orders to exit the building. While being placed under arrest, the defendant allegedly resisted and a deputy sustained a minor injury to his right hand.

It is further alleged that on December 2, 2022, at approximately 11:50 a.m., the defendant became combative and resisted deputies while being processed for intake at the Erie County Holding Center. The defendant allegedly shoved one deputy and caused an injury to his right foot.  

Littlejohn is scheduled to return on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. Bail was set at $5,000 cash, bond, property or partially secured bond or release under supervision.

If convicted of the highest charge, Littlejohn faces a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
