Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 27-year-old Travis J. Zukic of Cheektowaga has been arraigned before Cheektowaga Town Court Justice James J. Speyer, Jr. on one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A-1” felony. The defendant was arraigned on Sunday, March 1, 2020.
It is alleged that on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the defendant shot a 23-year-old female employee as she was working at a 7-Eleven store on French Road in the Town of Cheektowaga. The victim was taken to ECMC where she died.
Zukic is scheduled to return on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. for a felony hearing. He remains held without bail.
If convicted on the charge, he faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.
DA Flynn commends the Cheektowaga Police Department for their work in the investigation.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
